Jacobs' family owned the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery, founded by the family in Erie Pennsylvania 1847. John Martin Magenau Jr. served as the office of President and CEO between 1978 and the time of its the brewery's closure in 1978. Jacobs began studying acting when she was eight years old, and she took class in The Pittsburgh Playhouse. She performed at the Pittsburgh Public Theater, where she took home the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest many times. Mt. Jacobs, who graduated in 2000 from Lebanon High School, moved to New York City New York where she studied at The Juilliard School. Her bachelor's degree was awarded in 2004.
